The Clinical Analytics Director for the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Minnesota Medical School, closely collaborates with departmental leadership to develop and implement operational strategies and tactics to support world-class patient care, education, and research. The Clinical Analytics Director will help diagnose and roadmap the data strategy process - to include crafting, building and operation of strategic capabilities that allow the department to respond to significant growth and change.
The Clinical Analytics Director will drive business value by leveraging data analytics to facilitate more informed decision-making, reveal bottlenecks and uncover potential growth opportunities. The position will oversee the integration of new technologies and initiatives into the developed data strategy. With responsibilities spanning data operations, data quality management, driving business value through data analytics, and ensuring data governance and security, the position will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the department.
Clinical Analytics Director Overview
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with department leaders to identify data assets and build a plan that integrates the role of people, processes, and technology to help them improve current operations and forecast future needs and trends.
Develops, maintains, and optimizes departmental operational policies and procedures related to clinical operations performed within the Department.
Manage staffing models for coverage of Operating Rooms, Acute Pain, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Perioperative Assessment Center (PAC), and Chronic Pain sites across various clinic, hospital, and outpatient surgery centers, ensuring high quality patient care.
Review and analyze strategic planning regarding staffing levels, compensation models and incentive plans.
Assesses strategic growth opportunities and initiatives to plan and develop strategic objectives for the department (possibly Medical School). Analyzes strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Optimize physician schedules in Qgenda that supports the department's staffing strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Computer Information Systems or other related technical field of study
15 years of meaningful work experience
Expert experience with Excel including the development of data models, use of pivot tables, joining and consolidating data, charting data, and the use of complex formulas
Proven track record to effectively manage complex situations, including the ability to analyze problems, identify potential solutions, and develop and implement strategic plans to achieve desired outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Experience/exposure to the Healthcare domain
SaaS/Software technical configuration and service experience, especially Qgenda
Position will offer a hybrid working schedule, with 2 days a week onsite.*
