Serves as a highly skilled biostatistician with responsibility for planning, organizing, and carrying out projects of highly developed scientific scope and complexity related to data collection, data management, analysis, program evaluation, and research activities. Manages master's level statisticians, consults with other scientists on statistical methods, and obtains independent extramural funding to support research projects.

Job Description:

Sequoia – a new Center for the Science of Aging at the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Research Institute in San Francisco – has received funding to expand research about human aging. The new center supports faculty and postdoctoral fellows in translational research on aging and helps clinicians apply principles and results of aging research to patient care.
We seek candidates with PhD training in statistics or biostatistics with expertise and a track record in research on translational or clinical/epidemiologic research, ideally with a focus on aging. We are also interested in novel and generalizable research applying measurements and interventions from aging research to clinical care. Note, we do not include bench science. The position would manage several master's level statisticians as well as lead an independent research portfolio.
Sequoia offers well-funded opportunities for faculty-level investigators, including generous start-up packages, and post-doctoral fellows who do translational or clinical research in aging. The program also provides expert statistician-analysts and administrative support.
