Job Summary: The Assistant Shop Manager is to learn to provide the necessary leadership to plan, direct, organize, coordinate, and control the fabrication and warehousing functions of Olympic Fire Protection.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintain the fabrication functions of the company in a cost-effective manner.

· Maintain the company owned tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.

· Must have the ability to respond to inquiries from other departments.

· Schedule the fabrication of components in an accurate and timely manner to support the operations schedule.

· Performs in process quality control inspections to ensure that all fabricated components meet the needs of the field personnel prior to shipment.

· Maintains a program of preventative maintenance on all company owned vehicles.

· Maintains all company owned equipment in a clean serviceable condition performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs as required.

· Maintains the warehouse in a clean condition with all material in serviceable condition, properly stored and within easy access.

· Picks materials to be used on job sites staging the materials and ensuring that all required material is present and in good condition.

· Coordinates with the Purchasing Agent and provides the necessary manpower to accurately maintain the inventory control program, enforcing the procedures as required.

· Assists in the fabrication of parts and components as required.

· Performs pipe threading accurately on variety of size pipe selecting the correct dies and properly setting up the machine.

· Fabrication of components in an accurate and timely manner to support operations schedule.

· Ensure that all fabricated components meet the needs of the field personnel prior to shipment.

· Maintain all tools in a clean and serviceable manner ensuring that the tools are properly cleaned and stored at the end of the day.

· Supports the field by shipping replacement and missing parts to job sites as required. Ensures that each shipment is documented.

· Perform operator maintenance and minor repairs necessary to maintain the equipment in serviceable condition.

· Assists with unloading incoming shipments of material and stocker the material in the correct locations.

· Handles all materials in a safe manner careful not to damage the material.

· Other duties as assigned.
