What are we looking for?

St. John Community Services (SJCS) is seeking a dedicated property manager to oversee our DMV locations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintain high standard of property management. The primary focus of this role is to manage all SJCS properties, schedule maintenance, monitor moving violations, and implement quality assurance plans for environmental and property management.

Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:

  • Manage all SJCS properties across DMV locations, including scheduling necessary maintenance appointments, both routine and as needed.
  • Liaison for all landlords, leasing offices, work orders for landlord, private owned properties
  • Liaison for local property vendors
  • Maintain annual leases and documentation of residency for SJCS properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Search for new homes and apartments needed and for over the cap locations
  • Liaison for governing state agency for touring properties and facilitating government agency walk-throughs
  • Monitor and reconcile all licensing violations related to SJCS properties, ensuring timely resolution and compliance.
  • Receive and review monthly QA Environmental Checklist and monthly Emergency Drill Reports, taking necessary actions to address any issues.
  • Process payment for of property-related expenses and entities as needed, maintaining financial records and ensuring timely payments
  • Complete purchases for approved furniture request
  • Implement SJCS Quality Assurance plan for environmental and property management, including conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Compensation for this part-time position is $27-$31 per hour. Up to 25 hours per week.

Qualifications

Extra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Real Estate Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in property management, preferably in a healthcare or social services setting.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to property management in the DMV area.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including tenants, landlords, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

All SJCS employees must:

  • Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required.
  • Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.

Physical and environmental conditions include:

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require standard safety precautions typical of offices, such as using safe workplace practices with office equipment and/or avoiding trips and falls. This position will require travel up to 50%.
