SCC is one of two accredited community colleges that comprise the Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS). Spokane Community College's Nursing Program seeks qualified candidates for consideration of employment as a Nursing Instructor adjunct (part-time) position. Classes will be taught in the morning, afternoon, evenings, or weekends and can include classroom or clinical environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for teaching-learning process in the laboratory and clinical setting.
- Provides availability and accessibility to students for purpose of academic support, in a manner appropriate to meet student needs, though an effective means of responsive and timely communication
- Keeps open communication with Nursing Department Chairs and Course Coordinators to assure relevancy of information for program accreditation and program student success.
- Complies with state and federal law applicable to processional duties and responsibilities. Follows established procedures and policies.
COMPETENCIES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Minimum Qualifications):
- An earned Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current medical surgical, obstetrics, or psychiatric nursing experience.
- Acceptance of the responsibility to always promote the welfare and best interests of students.
- A demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals, and objectives of CCS.
- The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community, and technical college system.
- A demonstrated understanding and value for the contributions that a diverse workforce can make to the success of the organization and the students we serve.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES (Desirable Qualifications):
- Recent college-level teaching experience.
- Familiarity with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Ability to employ various formats and styles in teaching.
- Be an advocate of community college education.
CONDITIONS/TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is an adjunct (part-time) position. Compensation will be pro-rated according to the amount of workload assigned. CCS reserves the right to cancel this recruitment without notice. Academic employees are represented by the Association of Higher Education (AHE), which is affiliated with NEA and WEA. Membership is optional.

Person hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States. This is an absolute condition of employment.
