Fairview Health Services Lead Medical Assistant/MA - Urgent Care in Eagan, Minnesota

Overview

We at Fairview Health Services is looking for hard working Lead Medical Assistant to join the driven team our Eagan Urgent Care! This position is approved for 80 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible. Hours of the urgent care are Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm and Weekends 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.

The Eagan Clinic is one of the largest clinics in the Fairview system. We are a New Clinic (structurally) with an improved layout and design. This is a stand alone clinic in a growing business area with phenomenal shopping, food/restaurant, and walking opportunities. We also offer free parking and can easily get to major roads and highways. Many at our location choose to make Eagan home and build community ties, while others appreciate the ease of a commute to our site.

The Fairview Urgent Care teams work together to ensure we are providing the best care for our patients. With 12 different urgent care locations, you may be asked to travel to another site that is outside your “home grouping” when needed. We offer urgent care at: Andover, Bloomington–Oxboro, Brooklyn Park, Eagan, Edina, Highland Park, Lakeville, Mall of America, Maplewood, North Branch, River Falls, or Woodwinds (Woodbury. Responsibilities Job Description

The working lead serves as the “go to” person to assist with communication, coordinates and provides training, orientation, and department assimilation. Encourages and motivates team for immediate problem resolution, provides a consistent presence. Anticipates, identifies, and reports departmental areas of concern to clinic supervisor. Champions and promotes a collaborative and conducive team environment. Completes sophisticated and/or high-level project work but is not a substitute for team member thinking and initiative.

Lead Medical Assistants will coordinate daily activities of the team to ensure patient needs are met. They are responsible for daily work assignments and makes adjustments to meet department requirements. Lead MAs will assist with arranging immediate coverage for sick calls and assigns breaks. They will provide observations and assists with testing for proficiency regarding performance, conduct and behavior for performance management. The Lead will attends clinic meetings and communicates appropriate information; serving as a clinic representative at peer groups or other meetings as needed. Leads will promote a team environment within the department, other site departments, and other clinics. Coordination of staff orientation and training as well as provide education and orientation to new and existing staff is also an important function of the Lead MA position.

  • Refers standards of practice issues to supervisor for resolution.

  • Responds to and helps resolve operational issues, including provider issues

  • Participates in interview process.

  • Serves as mentor within the dept

  • Ensures safety policies and practice are maintained.

  • Ensures equipment is in working order and quality control logs are completed as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2 or more years' experience in an ambulatory clinic

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

  • Basic Life Support Certification
