Requirements: B.S. in Finance or Accounting with six months of experience analyzing business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations for an international company in the consumer retail industry. Experience must include at least six (6) months of experience applying US GAAP (applying the guidance on accounting for software and software related costs) for a Fortune 100 company, as well as six (6) months of experience with Oracle General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Project Accounting and Fixed Assets modules; Alteryx, Blackline, OneStream and TM1. Job Description:
Best Buy has an opening at its corporate offices in Richfield, Minnesota, for a Senior Financial Analyst (aka Accounting Analyst) to provide accounting support for the Digital, Analytics, and Technology (DAT) business groups. Provide controllership support on capital spend for internally developed software, website development costs and costs associated with cloud computing arrangements. Also provide accounting support to telecommunications business, own a SOX process related software development costs, and implement process efficiencies. Support the month-end accounting close process (inc. preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis); ensure accurate and consistent application of US GAAP related to software and software related costs. Analyze monthly financial results using tools like OneStream, TM1 and Microsoft Power BI. Identify, and resolve issues, perform ad-hoc analysis, and assist with variance questions on technology spend.
