Health Advocates Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work at a Facility in Halethorpe, MD. This is a registry position with our company.



Pay Rate: $17 - $19 / hour



Shifts Details:

  • Saturday & Sunday 11am-9pm



Job Summary:



We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence. You will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with daily activities, personal care, community integration, and fostering meaningful relationships.



Responsibilities:




  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and comfort.

  • Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication administration, following established protocols and guidelines.

  • Support individuals in daily activities, such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and transportation, while promoting their independence and choice.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring that goals and objectives are met.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting socialization, community integration, and participation in recreational activities.

  • Document and maintain accurate records of individual progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or health status, adhering to confidentiality and privacy policies.

  • Collaborate with families, guardians, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.

  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in providing quality care.

  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.



Qualifications:




  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in a related field is a plus.

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish meaningful relationships with individuals and their families.

  • Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations, while maintaining professionalism and composure.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in documenting and maintaining accurate records.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as some travel may be required.
