Position Summary | Dr. Cimona V. Hinton, Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Immunology is seeking a talented Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will oversee operations of the lab and contribute to biomedical research that examines cannabinoids and their receptors in cancer, and other projects related to the biological basis of health disparities. The lab manager will bring managerial skills and knowledge of safety and lab procedures to ensure that the lab operates smoothly. The position will oversee scheduling, maintaining inventory, ordering and organizing supplies, and maintaining safety standards. The lab manager will also train lab staff and research students on the correct use of lab equipment, in addition to mentoring and fostering a collaborative culture. The Lab Manager will also perform research experiments to support the scholarship of the lab. The Lab Manager must be able to contribute to the scope, and plan of approach, of research projects. It will be expected that the lab manager contributes original ideas to the laboratory research, standardizes new techniques and trains staff, performs specialized procedures, prepares written reports of laboratory experimental methods, reads abstracts and articles, organizes and plans techniques, and help lab personnel troubleshoot problems that they are unable to solve. |

The Lab Manager will be responsible for conducting scientific experiments, working with internal and external collaborators to allocate space and resources in the lab, maintaining laboratory stocks, research tools and inventory, analyzing data, and preparing it for publication. Immunization Requirements | It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |
