NY1496510 Center Aide/Bus Monitor needed with Fulmont Community Action Agency - Early Childhood Services at their Amsterdam location. SUMMARY: Responsible for safety and well-being of the Head Start children while in the classroom. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Adhere to all Agency safety policies as well as any State, Federal or other applicable safety regulations. -Follow all Fulmont, Head Start, and NYS Day Care Regulations, Policies and Procedures. -Assist children during loading/unloading of the bus monitor safety during transport to and from Head Start Center. -Accurately completed Bus Accountability Checklists. -Monitor behavior of children on the bus and report concerning behavior directly to the Transportation Manager. -Communicate information regarding bus route changes to the transportation Manager. -Assist during the required bus evacuation drills. -Remain with and child returned to the center on the bus until an authorized individual has picked up and signed the child if needed. -View release forms and ensure children are released only to authorized individuals when departing from the Head Start center. -Assist during field trips when required. -Assist children with toilet time and changing the child's clothes. -Complete change of status forms and other paperwork assigned, such as scheduling, bus routes, reports etc. -When not on the bus, assist in the daily activities in the classroom, as assigned by the Transportation Manager or On Site supervisor during activities or to provide breaks/lunches for the teaching staff. -Complete anecdotal records of children's progress in the classroom as needed. Assist in the daily activities in the classroom, as assigned by the On-Site Supervisor during activities or to provide breaks/lunches for the teaching staff. -Report any classroom concerns to the On-Site Supervisor.. -Assist in training new Bus Monitor/Center Aides and/or Substitutes on all aspects of the Bus Monitor/Center Aide position. -Follow directives given by Head Start Management in the absence of the Transportation Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: -A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. -Previous work experience in a preschool setting and/or transportation preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: -First Aid/CPR Certification a plus. OTHER REQUIREMENTS -Reliable transportation required. Monday-Friday - day shift WAGE: $15.75/hr.
