Applications Engineer - Mechanical
Job Functions:
Job Summary
Job Functions (Essential)
Designs walk-in enclosures and housing for generator sets, KPP, BESS, or other systems as required.
Define System requirements related to ventilation air flow design, including static pressure calculations and sound attenuation as well as exhaust, fuel and water piping in accordance with industry codes and standards.
Manage and/or develop complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of systems.
Prepare, submit and track RFI(s) (Request for Information) as needed to ensure client expectations are clearly communicated and documented.
Review and complete C/D&E documents.
Verifies and confirms manufacturing drawings, P&I diagrams, schematics, data sheets and similar drawings for compliance with design specifications.
Research and analyze requirements from various engineering standards, contracts, and proposal documents.
Prepare engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable codes, contract requirements, while utilizing industry standard/Rolls-Royce Solutions America standards
Prepare and finalize equipment specifications for major equipment, collaborate with internal departments such as purchasing & engineering to procure components, and release components with vendors for production.
Review and compare customer specifications against MTU designs and equipment vendor proposals.
Promotes a compliance & inclusive culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
Performs special projects as required.

Qualifications:
Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Automation Engineering and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience with design, field service, application, or manufacturing engineering; or 7 years of mechanical engineering experience with design, field service, application, or manufacturing engineering.
Strong applied knowledge about reciprocating internal combustion engines used in genset applications including exhaust gas treatment system technologies.
Strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Strong ability to read and interpret P&I diagrams and manufacturing drawings.
Good Fundamental knowledge of AC/ DC electricity
Strong ability to take initiative and work independently in a collaborative environment.
Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Strong ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and explain those conclusions to management in form of presentations.
Strong computer Skills: MS Office suite, drafting tools, CAD software.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
