Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Mettler Toledo is seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team here in Columbus, OH. As a Payroll Specialist will perform U.S., Canada and international assignee payroll functions, payroll reporting, and tax requirements for the METTLER TOLEDO HR Shared Service Center in North America and Canada.Your responsibilities will include:

Analyze, prepare, all payroll data from our units into ADP WFN, including bonuses, commissions, restricted stock, etc.
Work with ADP to ensure they can accurately process U.S. and Canada payroll transactions, hours worked, tax compliance and government reporting for all employees
Validate and prepare off-cycle manual check requests
Prepare and validate quarter and year-end tasks or adjustments
Assist in documenting all payrolls processes and procedures
Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner regarding payroll with the ability to trouble-shoot employee payroll concerns
Collaborate with third party Wage Garnishment team to manage and process employee federal and state wage garnishments.
Support management with audits, monthly reporting and special projects as assigned.
Other duties many be assigned to meet business needs

What You Need to Succeed

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Human Resources or relevant field is required
Intermediate to advance working experience in Excel with basic proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook required
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred

Ideal to have 3-5 years of experience in:

U.S. multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, general ledger/payroll accounting and year-end payroll processes within a similar industry.
Canadian payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, general ledger/payroll accounting and year-end payroll processes
ADP WFN payroll processing, Timekeeping systems and interfaces
California payroll processing.
