Abbott Diagnostics Technologies AS is part of Abbott Diagnostics, bringing together teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
The position of Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer is within our Cardiometabolics and Informatics Unit located in Oslo, Norway. This role has the responsibility to support implementation of the operational excellence and continuous improvement strategies. OpEx Engineer will drive sustainable continuous improvements, delivering breakthrough results in safety, quality, delivery and cost while building cultural change throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies and procedures.
Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation, and effectiveness of quality processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
Exhibits professional behavior that reflects positively on the company.
Understands and maintains awareness of the quality consequences of improper job performance.
Supports and drives the implementation of operational excellence and continuous improvement strategies.
Implements lean practices and tools to strengthen a culture of continuous improvement, standard work, visual factory, continuous process flow, and waste reduction.
Delivers Lean Six Sigma training at all levels of the organization.
Purchases relevant OpEx materials within cost limits set by the manager.
Responsibilities for specific tasks are reflected in the employee’s training plan.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s / master’s degree in relevant discipline
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
Competence in instructing and guiding others
Competence in using IT tools for data analysis, process mapping and presentations
Strong application knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and related CI tools
Good communication skills in writing and orally, both in Norwegian and English

Experience with quality systems, LEAN, and working in a production environment is an advantage.
