Job Description
Cleveland-Cliffs, Coshocton Works, located in East Central Ohio, a stainless finishing operation and one of the nation's leading producers of flat rolled stainless steel, has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager for Maintenance.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Administration of company policies and procedures
Direct supervision of Mechanical Maintenance personnel in a union environment
Participate in the operation's manufacturing, safety, quality, and environmental programs to ensure plant objectives are met and exceeded
Adhere to the Quality Policy to promote continuous improvement of our products and processes
Attain results through effective planning, organizing, controlling, and assignment of priorities
Maintain effective and consistent work performance, even under uncertain or unstructured conditions in the face of stress
Identify basic problem(s), gather the appropriate information, and analyze then in an effective manner
Make decisions with a clear business focus on safety, quality, and productivity
Perform safety and quality audits/observations within the department to detect existing or potential accident hazards, or quality defects
Assist in the development, review, and update of JSHA's (Job Safety and Health Analysis) to eliminate safety hazards
Facilitate weekly safety contacts/safety meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in heavy manufacturing maintenance
Working knowledge of the skills of the craft including welding, hydraulics/pneumatics, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting
Ability to coordinate and execute a multitude of projects with minimal supervision within the allotted time and budget
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills
Ability to work turns as necessary and overtime as needed for breakdowns and outages when they occur
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors degree in technical or engineering
Managerial experience including safety, quality, environmental, cost management and budgeting is preferred
Three + years of supervisor experience in an industrial union environment is preferred
