The Opiate Treatment Program (OTP) is a treatment program that offers medication-assisted treatments and counseling services for individuals struggling with opiate dependence. All clients are treated with compassion, respect and the belief that everyone has the ability to grow when they are provided with a safe and welcoming environment. Services include individual and group therapy, health & wellness education, medication administration & counseling, annual physical evaluations & lab work, monthly pregnancy visits and more. The OTP Nurse position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a critical impact in the lives of those who are struggling with addiction.
The OTP Nurse’s Responsibilities Are:
Conducts initial medical assessment of clients & administers medications as ordered
Documents client concerns & communicates patient needs, changes and psychiatric emergencies to Nurse Manager as necessary
Provides patient education and referrals
Enters prescriptions into electronic client records
Transcribes doctor’s orders
Generates and reviews reports
Maintains adequate inventory of controlled substances.
Qualifications:
Valid and current Massachusetts licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
Current certification in CPR
Experience with addiction treatment services preferred, but not required
