1 Full Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 05/01/2024 - 11/01/2024. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in boxes 3 and 4, page 1. Workers are needed to plant, maintain, and harvest various vegetables crops and greenhouse tomatoes. Workers are needed to maintain and harvest fruits and berries. Worker must have a working knowledge of and ability to perform various tasks required in vegetable and berry production. Workers must have a working knowledge of and ability to perform various tasks required in greenhouse tomato production, including harvesting, grading, suckering, lowering, clipping, and thinning. Workers will perform field work including planting, transplanting, weeding, thinning, hoeing, mulching, and harvesting of vegetables and maintaining, weeding, and harvesting of berries. Workers will also harvest fruits on a smaller scale. Workers will sort, wash, pack and otherwise prepare various crops for storage and shipping. Workers will assist with transporting hay back to the barn from the fields and will unload and stack hay from wagons. Workers will load and unload trucks and other farm vehicles, set up and operate various irrigation equipment, and cut brush and other vegetation in and around fields, buildings, and equipment. Workers will assist with machinery maintenance, washing, and greasing. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid drivers license, no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers must be able to work in various extreme weather conditions from damp and cold spring and fall days to hot and humid summer days. The work is physically demanding, requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers must be available for work 3 days per week at Fresh Roots Farm and must be available for work 3 days per week at Cloudland Farm, LLC. Cloud Land Farm, LLC offers 22 hours a week; 8 hours a day on Tuesday, 8 hours a day on Wednesday and 6 hours a day on Friday. Fresh Roots Farm offers 30 hours a week; 10 hours a day on Monday, 10 hours a day on Thursday and 10 hours a day on Saturday. Workers may require to work their shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm. Daily beginning and ending times will vary depending on tasks to be completed and the weather. Workers will be given a 30-minute lunch break. The employer will furnish the worker with all tools and equipment required to perform assigned duties without cost. Worker must be able to take direction in simple English.
