About the Job



Position Description
This position will play a critical role in helping execute new student move-in on the Monday and Tuesday prior to Welcome Week each year. This is a short term position that will include up to 2 hours of training prior to move-in and up to 12 hours of work on each move-in day.

Work Tasks
Working alongside building captains to provide direction to Welcome Week Leaders and other move-in volunteers
Providing direction to students and families regarding all aspects of move-in (traffic control, parking management, wayfinding, vehicle unloading, check-in, ect.)
Maintain the supplies needed for move-in (carts, flags, cones, maps, parking QR codes, etc.)
Cover tasks as needed so others can take breaks (you will also be provided breaks with others covering your tasks).

Work Environment
Almost all work will be done outside in the August weather. Employees should be prepared for working in heat, rain, and/or rapidly changing weather conditions.
Almost all work will be done standing and will involve significant walking
Employees should be prepared to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds while working move-in.
Employees will be provided 2 polo shirts to wear during move-in and are allowed to wear shorts and head covering as desired.
$15.00 per hour

Qualifications



Must be a current Univesrity of Minnesota student enrolled in at least 6 credits for Fall 2022 semester.
