Primary Purpose | The EMT Lab Assistant is responsible to assist the paramedic course director in the education and evaluation of student performance in the lab experience. |

Ergonomic Requirements | Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in extended standing with some occasional lifting is possible. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Must be able to climb or pull self upward, kneel, stoop, crawl and crouch. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. |

Equivalency Statement | Work hours are determined by the supervisor and vary based on business needs and locations. Position assignments may be assigned an alternate schedule to service the campus needs. Work will primarily be performed inside classroom/lab settings with occasional outdoor activities. Extended standing required. Lifting of objects under 50 lbs. frequently needed with objects weighing over 100 lbs. at times. Must be able to climb, kneel, stoop, crawl, and crouch. Individuals must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms. Requires near visual acuity to read written materials, write and read computer screens. Requires sufficient hearing and speech ability, for ordinary conversations. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. |
