JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties The Inpatient Spinal Cord Injury Registered
Nurse will function as an integral member of the Spinal Cord Division.
These are exciting opportunities to work in a diverse environment.
Position offers opportunities to provide bedside care for acute and
chronic disease management, palliative care patients, rehabilitation and
complex medical patients. Responsibilities of the incumbent in this
position include but are not limited to: Managing the day to day needs
of an acutely ill patient population with spinal cord injuries/disorders
(SCI/D) Medication administration and documentation requirements Health
promotion, Veteran/Caregiver education and supporting patient
self-determination Collaborative practice with interdisciplinary SCI/D
team Application of principles of rehabilitation nursing care to promote
the highest level of functional independence Adhering to established
safety practices, delegating and guiding assistive personnel, and
supporting process/quality improvement initiatives on the unit and
across the organization Preferred Experience: BSN Preferred Acute care
nursing experience preferred Interest or experience in
SCI/Rehabilitation Nursing preferred Ability to multitask and manage
complex patient needs High level of flexibility/adaptability needed to
meet fast paced environment Strong interpersonal, oral and written
communication skills Committed to supporting a healthy work environment
CRRN (Rehabilitation certification preferred. Work Schedule: Full time
(80 hours per two week pay period) - All Shifts Available, with weekend
