Two years of experience working in International Education and demonstrated working knowledge of F and/or J immigration regulations as required in a higher education setting, or any other relevant experience in international recruitment, international student scholar services and/or education abroad.
International experiences such as studying, working, living, or traveling abroad.
Evidence of demonstrated ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills, solution management skills and detail oriented.
Computer and database competency required; Excel and Access experience is preferred.
The SEVIS Coordinator should have an ability to quickly learn ISRS, the university’s database
Knowledge of SEVIS regulations and experience working with the SEVIS database is preferred.
The SEVIS Coordinator must have the ability to react with the proper corrections in a timely manner to SEVIS alerts, to prepare SEVIS reports as needed and mandated by SEVIS, and the ability to meet all SEVIS deadlines and maintain an error free SEVIS compliance for a large number of international students and scholars.

Job Description:
This position is created to ensure the University’s compliance with federal immigration laws and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) regulations for hosting international students and scholars. The SEVIS Coordinator serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) specialized in SEVIS regulatory matters. Additionally, this position advises and provides services to international students and scholars on all related issues to the maintenance of immigration status.

Monitor the interface between the University system and SEVIS including data input and student information updates. This also includes implementing and monitoring the BATCH system. Responsible for SEVIS registration for initial and continuing international students. Each semester verify that international students are registered for a full-time course load. Meet with various departments such as Records and Registration, Graduate Studies, Business Services and Health Services periodically to ensure data integrity. This also includes implementing and monitoring the BATCH system. Monitor the SEVIS alerts, lists and run SEVIS reports. Follow up with international students and scholars to make all necessary updates on corrections with are vital to maintain immigration status and university compliance.

Provide counseling and advising to international students, scholars and their dependents regarding their personal, financial, academic, intercultural, social and immigration issues and concerns. Design and deliver informative presentations to students and scholars on immigration related procedures and regulations.

Lead and oversee overall department planning, related to technology such as ImageNow staff training, online forms maintenance, and website maintenance.

Maintain relevant records and statistics of F-1, J-1 students and scholars and complete the annual Open Doors Survey on international student enrollment. Compile comprehensive enrollment information to provide statistical data and charts as requested for both university and non-university needs upon request – to include the 30-day statistical enrollment chart.

Supervise student workers within the Center for International Studies office.
