Brickhouse Precision is a small machine shop seeking a Class A CNC Machinist/ Mill Set Up Technician.

Job Duties:

  • Analyzes written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and oral instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Consults with engineers and other personnel regarding product information such as design, capacity, and purpose.
  • Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, FAI (first article of inspection), and sample workpieces.
  • Maintains specifications by observing machining processes detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work instruction, including pictures, drawings, notes, tooling list, special requirements, proven program transcript, accurate set up, machine, and handling and gauging times.
  • Provides technical guidance, expertise, and leadership.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate or diploma from an accredited technical institute is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience setting up and operating 3 and 4 axis CNC Mills.
  • Excellent comprehension of mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in Math, Geometry, and Shop Trigonometry.
  • Skill in production of parts with extremely close tolerances.
  • Excellent comprehension of Dimensional Metrology and GD&T.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Process-improvement minded.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Preferred:

  • CAD/CAM Fusion 360 or similar.
  • CNC Lathe set up/operation.
