Job Description:
Need 3 full time, temporary, seasonal Ag. Equipment and Heavy Truck Operators to work in Sauk Centre, MN.
From: 05/18/2024 to 12/01/2024
Work: 48 hrs./week, Mon. - Sat. 8 hrs./day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory.
All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.
Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops. Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping. Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary. Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, livestock, or other materials. Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers. Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition. Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles. Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations. Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, such as railroad stations, plants, residences, offices, or within industrial yards. Use and maintain the tools or equipment found on commercial vehicles, such as weighing or measuring devices. Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs. Deliver messages and run errands. Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. Start motors and engage machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employer's expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Extensive sitting is required. No minimum education required.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
