As part of the Coding Audit and Education section within the HIM and Coding Division of AU Health, the Coding Auditor-Professional Services is responsible for conducting coding and provider documentation reviews for AU Health professional service encounters. Audits will include planned and triggered pre and post bill reviews to assess the quality of coding and documentation. Audit findings will drive process improvement and provider and coder education initiatives.
High School Diploma or GED and 3 years or more of experience in professional billing, coding and/or auditing of medical records for multiple specialties. Completion of college-level medical terminology and anatomy/physiology or ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding courses. Experience with electronic medical record system and in-depth knowledge and understanding of provider billing requirements and coding processes. Certification(s) required: CPC, CPMA.
Bachelor's Degree in Health related field. 3 years or more of experience in coding multi-specialties.
