Job Description
Ottumwa Radio is looking for a Radio Sales Representative. This role involves building and maintaining client relationships, understanding clients' advertising needs, and developing customized radio advertising solutions. Duties include but arent limited to:
1. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Identify and prospect new clients through cold calls, networking, and referrals.
- Understand clients' business goals and advertising needs.
2. Sales Presentations:
- Create and deliver compelling sales presentations to clients.
- Customize advertising solutions based on clients' target demographics and objectives.
- Clearly communicate the benefits of radio advertising to potential clients.
3. Media Planning and Consultation:
- Work with clients to develop effective radio advertising campaigns.
- Provide media planning and consultation services to maximize the impact of advertising messages.
- Collaborate with the creative team to develop ad copy and content.
4. Negotiation and Pricing:
- Negotiate advertising rates and packages to meet clients' budgetary constraints.
- Provide transparent pricing information and ensure a fair and mutually beneficial agreement.
5. Contract and Documentation:
- Prepare and present advertising contracts to clients.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all sales transactions.
6. Customer Service:
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the radio station's internal teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in media advertising.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prefer familiarity with radio advertising and the local media market.
- Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Salary up to $45,000 and/or commissions based on goals.
