Job Description:
Summary:
The Center is looking for a compassionate and professional Support Staff member. Support Staff is the first point of contact for patients at the Torrey Building location so professionalism and excellent customer service skills are a must. Support staff registers patients for intakes and walk-in assessments. They verify patient insurance benefits and navigate MNSure applications as needed. Support staff collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and must be able to adapt to changes in their work functions and environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Patient services:
Register patients
Verify and update patient information at every visit
Assist patients with paperwork
Answer patient questions and help ensure the highest quality of customer service
Assist patients with MNSure Applications as needed.
Verify insurance benefits
Soft Skills:
Answer phones and transfer calls to the appropriate staff member needed.
Customer-oriented communication skills
Receive and process cash and credit card payments for services rendered
Patient Records:
Maintain patient record confidentially in a manner set forth by policy and procedure.
Upload incoming patient records into the patient's EHR.
Respond to records request accurately, effectively and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
Must pass background studies conducted by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Must have current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain it before direct patient contact.
Preferred one year of experience as a Receptionist or Administrative Assistant;
Preferred knowledge of HIPAA & patient confidentiality laws.
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records Systems.
Experience working with Medical Insurance/Benefits/MNSURE.
Within 60 days of hire must become MNSURE Certified.
