SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a Graphic Designer responsible for providing graphic support to groups across the company, working closely with our headquarters digital and brand team as well as marketers in each business unit. This role will focus on differentiating our company, building brand awareness, and reaching our customers and candidates through compelling designs that will be used on our sales materials, social media accounts, website, project sites, and more. This role offers the chance to learn numerous businesses and impact our brand perception in markets across the country.
At Mortenson, you'll have the unique opportunity to join our Strategic Marketing groupas part of a high-performance team chartered with driving the business forward. The right candidate will be acreative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with 1-2 years of experience to support our design efforts across various digital and print platforms. They will have a strong foundation in graphic design principles, proficiency in industry-standard design software, and a passion for creating visually compelling assets that engage and inspire our audience. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys a fast pace, maintains a highly organized approach to managing multiple projects at once, and is ready to make an impact!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with a variety of internal teams to develop and execute visual concepts for digital projects, including website graphics, social media assets, email campaigns, digital ads, and more
Create original designs that align with brand guidelines and effectively communicate key messages to our target audience
Produce high-quality graphics, illustrations, icons, and other visual elements that enhance user experience and drive engagement
Take ownership of projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements and deadlines
Stay updated on design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our digital assets
Effectively communicate and present design concepts, ideas, and solutions to internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback into the design process as needed
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support their design needs and contribute to overall project success
Collaborate with printers and internal customers to ensure the successful execution and timely delivery of print jobs, adhering to quality standards and project specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field
1-2 years of professional experience in graphic design
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc), Figma, Sketch, and other industry-standard design tools
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition
Demonstrated ability to translate creative concepts into visually compelling designs that resonate with the target audience
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization
Portfolio should showcase projects that demonstrate an understanding of design principles, color theory, typography and visual communications executed for print and web application.
