Essential Functions
  1. Oversees/conducts statistical analyses, employing methods of descriptive statistics, sample comparisons, regression analysis, survival analysis, mixed effect models and multivariate analysis.
  2. Assists with study design development and other research as needed within the program or department.
  3. Formats data for statistical analysis.
  4. Manages data statistical packages (SAS, R, STATA) and writes procedures in applicable program.
  5. Makes recommendations to respective Principal Investigator (P.I.) as to preferable methods of analysis and research formats for proposed projects.
  6. Participates in the writing of research proposals, grants, and manuscripts; assists in the preparation of manuscripts and presentation materials.
  7. Engages in data entry, data cleaning, database management, and creation of analytic datasets.
  8. May devise methods and procedures for collecting data.
  9. May travel to a variety of sites within and outside the University to coordinate research projects
  10. May prepare and maintain regulatory documents associated with studies.
  11. Will collaborate with other research personnel and may supervise junior research staff.
Problem Solving
In collaboration with the PI, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating research while working with all levels and variety of staff internally and externally to the University. They must employ expertise to determine the appropriate research formats and methods of analysis necessary to attain research objectives. In collaboration with the PI, this individual is responsible for decisions related to a specific research project including the development of survey methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); plus four years related research experience, and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
