Who We Want
The HR Coordinator is responsible for performing administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s HR Department. This position is full-time, on-site, and based at our Thompson Road location in Fenton, MI.
What You Will Be Doing
- Answer frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Provide daily floor HR presence to support production staff HR needs.
- Oversee all onboarding and offboarding functions for direct hires and contract to direct hires.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation presentations.
- Work with recruiting specialist and department managers to help with screening resumes, completing phone screens, scheduling interviews, create/update job descriptions and posting positions.
- Complete Employment Verifications (mortgage, FOC, various).
- Coordinate monthly employee benefit meetings, assist with new hire benefit enrollment meetings, and yearly open enrollment process.
- Aid in payroll process including print and distribute timesheets for review, collect timesheets, and review corrections for accuracy. Also, report contract employee hours to contract company and reconcile contract employee payroll invoices.
- Responsible for daily attendance tracking and notifying supervisors of attendance incidents.
- Coordinate Apprenticeship Program administration including, pre-placement testing, class enrollment coordination, tracking pay increases, and other related tasks as needed.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, Miller Mart, retirement celebrations, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

What Requirements Are Needed
Associate degree in Human Resources Management preferred or equivalent prior experience considered. A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a Human Resources Department. Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred

- Excellent communication skills, (in-person, verbal and written).
- Comfortable working in an industrial shop floor environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
- Ability to travel between our two locations in Fenton, MI as needed.
