The Opportunity:
As the Finance Budget Manager, you will serve as the budget manager, principal fiscal advisor, and provide comprehensive financial and administrative support for the Department of Physics and Astronomy. You will manage and administer the accounting information systems functions; ensuring compliance with university, state and federal regulations; provide analysis and reports used to track financial and academic resources and outcomes; establish rates and determine cost-effective methods of conducting business; and supervise and direct the work of financial support staff. You will also advises faculty on university policy.
The success of this position depends upon the finance, budget, and management skills of the incumbent, the ability to accomplish work through account analysis, reconciliation, and balance maintenance, and ability to delegate duties, responsibility, and authority to others.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of constituents in a professional and courteous manner.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with budget, personnel, and management of financial resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with the Workday system.
• Ability to work with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Washington State University including experience with university policies and procedures.

Monthly Salary: $5,650 - $6,566.41 | In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
