Product Development Engineer positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). Responsible for design and delivery of Power Conversion Devices in connection with Ford’s next generation of electrified vehicles. Participate in design reviews and worst-case circuit analyses in connection with our Power Conversion Devices. Perform root cause analysis and product revisions to resolve field issues per warranty or quality returns and will further monitor and drive robust root cause analysis from suppliers, including development of unique test methods to replicate failure modes. Perform design verification testing plans and execution and support next generation high voltage energy storage and distribution component designs. Evaluate electrical or mechanical system engineering alternatives for various attributes, including cost, weight, package, quality, benchmarking, geometry creation, and functional analysis in collaboration with various cross-functional organizations. Collaborate with other Ford engineers, support change controls, report program milestone deliverables, and release core components in Ford’s Advanced Vehicle Bill of Materials system (“AVBOM”) and World Engineering Release System (“WERS”). Manage component design specifications, program timing, and build plans.
