Steel Press Set-Up Operator (BBBH5511747) Wichita, Kansas

Salary: USD15.5 - USD17.25 per year

Our client, a well-known multinational company that produces fire, HVAC, and security equipment for buildings, is seeking Steel Press Set Up Operators. As a Steel Press Set Up Operators Associate, you will be part of the team press set up team and assembling AC/Heating Units. Ideal candidates will have a great attitude, good communication, and ability to work well in a team environment which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Steel Press Set Up Operators
Location: Wichita, KS
Pay: $15.50-17.25 per hour

What’s the Job?

  • Read and understand Operational Method Sheets (OMS) job instructions.
  • Handles material to and from work station and gets work station and equipment ready for production.
  • Perform die changeovers and select correct materials to run.
  • Must be able to solve majority of problems if setup related.
  • Correct or seek support to correct any setup problems or tool problems preventing production of good parts.
  • Operates press to punch and form parts per specifications.
  • Adjusts and tightens hold down bolts, dies, springs, and pins. Lubricates material and parts as required.
  • Complete all required and assigned paperwork.
  • Performs housekeeping activities daily as outlined by supervisor.
  • Complies with all quality checks to include first part and last part inspection.
  • Maintains quality standard, keeps work station in order, reports work shortages, and performs own rework.
  • Perform any and all other department duties as assigned by Supervisor and observe all safety rules.

 

What’s Needed?

  • · Steel toe shoes
  • · Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • · Steel Pressing experience
  • · Ability to stand, stoop, squat, bend, and lift up to 50lbs
  • · Ability to use basic hand tools and read/interpret blueprints
  • Should have Grade 2 Steel Press experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
