Job Description

 
4 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 04/01/2024- 11/15/2024. Candidate will be responsible for farm equipment operation, including tractors, skidsteers, and farm trucks. Equipment, including all trucks, are NYS Farm Plated and are restricted to travel between our farm and fields which are within a 25-mile radius of each other as required by NYS laws. They will be required to perform tasks such as harvesting, liquid and solid manure spreading, and other tasks requiring equipment between farm yards and fields. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for daily maintenance around the farm, assisting mechanics, etc. Job duties include, but are not limited to: - Inspecting tractor, truck, harvesting/tillage implements prior to as well as after use. - Informing shop supervisor of any mechanical issues with equipment. - Hauling liquid manure, solid materials, hay, corn silage, and solid manure. - Knowledge of safe equipment operating practices. - Completing and/or assisting with mechanical work on tractors, trucks, trailers, harvesting equipment, tillage equipment. - Cleaning and washing equipment as required. - Daily maintenance as required (check and filling engine oil, power steering fluid, coolant, ensuring tires must have proper air pressure, greasing, etc. - Must have a valid driver's license. - Ability to operate as well as willingness to learn how to operate farm equipment candidate is unfamiliar with. - Strong work ethic. - Ability to perform daily farm maintenance including, but not limited to grounds maintenance (mowing, week whacking, tree trimming), fixing barns, cleaning shop, and fixing fences. - Assisting shop mechanics with repairs. Workers will work 7:00am to 3:30pm with a half hour for lunch. Additional hours required as necessary based on weather and crop progression. Hours may vary based on weather and crop conditions.
