About the Job



This temp/casual position is located at North Central Research & Outreach Center (NCROC) in Grand Rapids, MN. Position may have the opportunity to work across all program areas within the center. Training on specic machinery may also be available.
Possible areas of responsibilities
Measure and record plant growth.
Assist researchers with collecting plant, soil, and water samples.
General eld work and plot maintenance, evaluation of plots, plot layout, planting, and fruit harvests.
Tabulating data and sample preparation for lab analysis
Lawn mowing, landscaping, trimming, pruning.
Building improvements (painting), light maintenance, and janitorial duties.
Assisting with events

Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications:
A valid drivers license
Ability to work in teams and work collaboratively across programs

Desired Qualifications:
Experience gathering and preparing soil, manure, forage, plant and grains samples for analysis
Appreciation for research activities and patience to work in research settings

About the Department



The North Central Research and Outreach Center (NCROC) is dedicated to the discovery and sharing of knowledge to improve the quality of life for Minnesotans. The unique soil, climate, and social and economic environment in north central Minnesota provide opportunities for researchers to conduct research and lead outreach programs that contribute to sustainable economic systems in the region.
