POSITION PURPOSE The Director of Finance and Operations (Associate Director (E S 10)) is responsible for leading financial planning, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, museum operations, and human resources. The Director of Finance and Operations is the staff liaison to the finance committee of the board and to College of Arts & Sciences Administration department. This position supervises the HR Manager, Accounting Manager, Systems Administrator, Security Manager, Museum Services Manager, Visitor Experience Manager, and Facilities Coordinator. The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the Executive Director of the Henry Art Gallery. PAY RANGE: $8,796 - $10,760 full time rate This is a 90% FTE position SCHEDULE: Tuesday – Friday, 36 hours per week (90% Full-time Equivalent or FTE) REPORTS TO: Executive Director DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Finance & Human Resources planning and management (40%) - Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations from city, county, state, and federal entities. - Actively evaluate and analyze salary benchmarking and employee benefits. - Be a thought partner around HR initiatives, projects, and goals, especially in relation to the strategic plan. Operations (30%) - Develop, lead, and enforce museum security protocols and initiatives. - Responsible for overall management, repair, and administration of museum security systems. - Works closely with the Director and Visitor Experience Manager to define the museum’s vision for visitor experience and ensure that vision is understood and shared across departments. - Think strategically and creatively to examine the full Henry Art Gallery visitor experience, from pre-visit planning to in-gallery learning, and identify areas that can be strengthened or grown. - Work closely with the Executive Director to communicate facility projects and relay information to UW and the College of Arts & Sciences. - Timely address facilities concerns brought forth by visitors and staff. - Ensure museum facilities are well maintained and operating correctly. - Define the museum’s vision for retail and group visitation experience and ensure that vision is understood and shared across departments. - Build and develop the Henry’s retail presence, onsite and online.
