High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D).
At least one year of experience working with Native American children, youth, and/or families is preferred but not required.
At least one year of experience performing clerical duties preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to routinely lift 5 to 60 lbs to assist with transporting infants up to teenage clients.
Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Ability to drive in adverse weather and road conditions is required, non-smoking environment

Job Description:
Division: Human Services
Reports to: Child Protection Program Assistant
Worksite: Child Welfare Department
Work Hours: M-F, 8:00am to 4:30pm (occasional evenings and weekends as required)
LLBO Status: Non-exempt

License/Certification Requirements: Valid MN Driver's License, current insurance or be insurable is required.

Summary: Responsible to provide transportation support for clients to maintain compliance with their case plans. Will also assist program staff with day to day operations to maintain effective and efficient program services.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist clients in maintaining compliance with their case plans by transporting to and from supervised visits, medical appointments, court appointments, and other service appointments as assigned.
Assist clients with personal support by transporting to purchase food, clothing, and household items as assigned. Assist children of all ages and sizes in and out of vehicles for transports with use of proper body mechanics to ensure all children are properly seat belted and/or in proper car seats according to safety and child size specifications.
Supervise family visitation sessions at their assigned location to ensure safety of all parties present, and to observe family, parent, child interaction.
Provide a detailed summary of all supervised visits and interactions with clients on proper forms to be submitted to the appropriate Case Manager within required timelines.
Assist Child Welfare staff on emergency and other field visits as assigned.

Prepare reports regarding client contacts, client needs, and client service requests, submit to Case Manager for files. Conduct interior and exterior inspections of program vehicles prior to and after all transports take place to ensure they are well maintained and safe to proceed to use.
Complete the Daily Vehicles Reports to document observations of vehicle conditions and/or safety concerns, and maintenance can be addressed in a timely manner.
Conduct bi-weekly car detailing work on the program vehicles to include, but not limited to, cleaning all trash and debris from the interior ofthe vehicle, vacuum floors, seats, floor mates, trunk, clean interior door frames, instrument panels, exterior light covers, clean all glass, mirrors on the vehicle inside and out. Shampoo stained or dingy carpet, upholstery only as needed.
Complete an Auto Detailing Report to document the detail work that was completed on a program vehicle and must submit the report to Administration within required timeline.
Upon receiving new information and documentation from CP Program Assistant, will create a new client case file according to the CW File Management Procedures within 3 business days.
Maintain a neat and orderly file room, work with the CP Program Assistant to ensure CW File Retention Policies are adhered to.
Maintain knowledge of the CW filing systems to be able to locate and pull a file upon request or return a file to its proper location in a timely manner.
Manage the Child Protection reception desk as assigned in the absence of the receptionist.
Answer inquiries about the Child Welfare Protection Program and/or route calls or visitors to specific employees who can assist them.
Greet visitors warmly and make sure they are comfortable while they wait for services.
Notify employees in a timely manner of visitors who are waiting in the reception area to meet with them.
Retrieve department mail from the local post office upon management request and properly secure mail to prevent loss, handle with high regard to sensitivity and confidentiality.
Conduct client drug and alcohol screens in a confidential, safe, and sanitary manner according to the Child Welfare Testing Procedure.
Attend program activities outside of normal working hours as assigned.
Work cooperatively as a team member and promote teamwork with co-workers.
Attend in-service meetings, workshops, and conferences to improve job performance.
Submit adequate and timely reports to management upon request and when necessary.
Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings as directed by management.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Travel in and out of the state on a possibly regular basis.
Understand sensitivity to Native American Traditions and cultural practices.
All other job related duties as described above assigned by immediate supervisor.
