Software Engineering Manager, Cloud Security

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 8 years of experience developing and designing distributed systems.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • 3 years of experience in the security and privacy space, including, but not limited to: key management systems, security architecture, cryptography experience, cryptographic algorithms, security modeling, encryption/decryption, and/or security and identity management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team and work closely with team leads and stakeholders to identify opportunities to make our platform simpler, more robust, more scalable, and able to unleash the full potential of our customers’ data.
  • Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role, and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Build solutions from the ground up to extract out meaningful information related to compliance and governance.
  • Oversee design, development, test, deploy, maintenance, and improvements of our platform.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
