Senior Software Engineer, Portfolio Management at Schonfeld Strategic Advisors LLC (New York, NY)

Responsible for creating a platform that serves as the golden data source for post trade operational data - near real-time positions, start-of-day position, end-of-day position, trades, executions and P&L. His day-to-day duties will include:


• Developing, and deploying solutions to optimize complex workflows;
• Participating in an Agile framework, continuously improving and expanding platform capabilities based on rapidly changing business requirements as well as providing Level 3 support across the globe;
• Contributing to a highly supportable, future-ready, performant code base that operates without latency;
• Working with a modern tech stack - building microservices that deploy to the cloud (AWS) using containers (Docker);
• Working on applications supporting the trade lifecycle using Java, relational databases, messaging systems such as Kafka, cloud services such as AWS, containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation, and suggesting new frameworks to improve the current tech stack;
• Directing continuous development, including suggesting best coding practices to expand and maintain the port trade operation data platform;
• Gather requirements and design and architect solutions;
• Manage incidents in a lead capacity. Work with trade support and operations on fast resolution;
• Manage communications with product owner, business analysts, other technology teams; and
• Act as a mentor and role-model to other members of the team.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, a related field or foreign equivalent, followed by 3 years of progressively responsible experience in any occupation working on software and computer applications supporting the trade lifecycle within the financial services industry. Experience must include:


• 3 years of experience with Java development
• 3 years of experience with relational databases
• 3 years of experience with messaging systems, such as Kafka
• 3 years of experience with cloud services, such as AWS
• 3 years of experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• 2 years of experience with working with DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation
• 3 years of experience with supporting OTC instruments in developing Global Macro strategy (including Fixed Income, Credit, Rates, Equities, Futures)
• 3 years of experience working lower latency distributed compute services.

Part-time telecommuting permitted.

Wage Range: $187,200 - 258,200/year
