JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20765 JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor of Human

Principal Work Location: UW-Stevens Point Main Campus, Chemistry Biology
Building Supervisor: Assistant Dean, School of Biology, Chemistry, and
Biochemistry Department: School of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry
Position Summary: Tenure-track, nine-month faculty position in the
Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Teaching load is 12 credits per semester (24 credits/year) and will
include upper-level courses in human anatomy and introductory biology,
especially as they support degree requirements in nursing as well as the
Clinical Laboratory Science major, Medical Laboratory Scientists
program, and for pre-professional programs in health such as
pre-medical, pre-physician assistant, and pre-pharmacy. There is also
the possibility of teaching other courses based upon area(s) of
interest, specializations, and department needs, including team-teaching
gross dissection at an entry-level for the Doctor of Physical Therapy
program (under a separate summer contract). Additional responsibilities
include the development of a productive research program involving
undergraduates, student advising, and department, school, college, and
university-level service. Anticipated Appointment Date: August 2024 TO

AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology, or M.D.,
D.D.S., D.V.M., D.Sc., EdD., dual degrees, or international equivalent
degrees in biology or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be
considered, but in all cases the candidate chose for the position must
have completed all requirements for the doctorate by the beginning of
the academic year following the initial employment year, for
consideration for retention and tenure. Experience with and/or
demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate education
Experience with and/or demonstrated commitment to involving
undergraduate students in research Experience with and/or demonstrated
ability to teach lecture-lab courses in human anatomy Preferred
Qualifications: Experience with and/or demonstrated ability to teach
introductory biology, human physiology, cell biology, and/or molecular
biology. Experience with and/or demonstrated ability to work with human
donor (cadaveric) specimens and appropriate maintenance of donated human
remains Experience maintaining and curating anatomical collections of
