Description

Shift: 8a-4:30p

  • Produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs and or vasculature using ultrasound equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and in the study of malfunctioning organs.
  • Prepares equipment and patients for procedures and conducts procedures with proper sterile technique.
  • Provides quality care to patients having US scans and invasive procedures. Explains procedures to patients/families to reduce their anxiety and to obtain patient cooperation. Discusses test results with a supervisor or attending physician.
  • Responsible for completing all aspects of patient care documentation as required in imaging services.
  • Completes procedures in Radiology Information System to ensure billing of exams/procedure.
  • Prepares billing sheet and is responsible for bar-coding charges into inventory management system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a student in good standing within 60 days of graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasound.
  • Registry-eligible with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
