Job Description
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
Research special project around the day-to-day operation of receiving raw milk at a dairy processing plant
Travel to visit the dairy processing plant at least twice over the span of the internship. Overnight stay required.
Analyze data from the Cooperative and processing plant to include scales, truck sizes, schedules, receiving times and patterns. Propose solutions to reduce hauler waiting time and time spent in receiving bays. Maintain focus on reducing expenses without compromising quality.
Present optimal receiving pattern of milk tankers in processing plant that includes a visual model to support findings to senior leaders
Prepare a summary of the project and outline additional follow up that may be needed to continue progress post-internship
Graduate level student preferred, may accept seniors graduating in 2024
