Fairview Health Services Nurse Manager - Emergency Department in Maplewood, Minnesota

Overview

M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital located in Maplewood, MN is looking for a dedicated transformational Nurse Manager to lead their Emergency department. Are you ready to join our growing campus?

The Nurse Manager leads nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with two Patient Care Supervisors and is accountable to the Nursing Director. Including management of nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities.

  • 43 Bed Unit providing care to approximately 52,000 patients per year and growing!

  • Care Delivery Team includes Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, Patient Care Supervisors and Care Management.

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Expectations:

  • Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

  • Plans, leads, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

  • Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.

  • Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.

  • Collects and analyzes quality data and applies process improvement methodology to ensure delivery of safe and quality patient care.

  • Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.

  • Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Advocates for patient, family, department and organizational needs.

  • In partnership with the Nursing Practice and Education team assures that evidence based clinical care is being delivered.

  • Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.

  • Works with Nursing Director to establish goals and objectives.

  • Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.

  • Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing.

Experience

Four Years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role.

License/Certification/Registration

Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.

BLS certification

Preferred

Education

Master’s Degree in Nursing

License/Certification/Registration

ANCC or AONL Certification
