Company Profile:
Piedmont Health Services, Inc. (PHS) is a private, non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) organization founded in 1970 (then called Orange Chatham Comprehensive Health Services Inc.). Like other FQHC organizations nationally, PHS is an important part of its community's health care safety net, and is steadfastly focused on reducing financial, geographic and cultural/linguistic barriers to primary care access for low-income and other medically vulnerable populations. Administratively headquartered in Chapel Hill, NC, PHS currently operates ten, Joint Commission-accredited community health centers in four counties (Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Orange) as well as Piedmont Health SeniorCare, a CMS-deemed Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). To remain community responsive, the organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of a majority of PHS health care consumers, and currently employs over 500 health and social service professionals.
