We are seeking a tenacious and results-driven Senior Director to lead our Enterprise Cell and Gene Therapy marketing and product management teams at Bio-Techne. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, driving revenue growth, enhancing customer acquisition, and elevating the awareness of our Cell & Gene Therapy brand.  This candidate will possess a strong understanding of the C&GT market space, with the ability to evolve product development roadmaps and evaluate new opportunities to enhance the portfolio.  This person will foster start-up like responsiveness to our customers’ needs and ensure seamless collaboration across cross-functional commercial, operational, and business unit boundaries.\

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CGT BU Leader and the product line PMs to set the strategic direction of the products within the CGT enterprise portfolio.  Responsibilities include:
    • Evaluate new market opportunities for portfolio
    • Track competitive offerings across target markets, including potentially disruptive technologies
    • Provide deep customer knowledge for target segments through partnerships with sales and marketing, globally
    • Develop strategy for addressing specific segments of the market.  Includes defining Region-specific needs through partnership with local business managers.
  • Provide strategic and compelling leadership for the Enterprise CGT marketing and product management teams, aligning strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Develop portfolio strategy to achieve 3-5 year business goals
    • Collaborate with PMs and technical team to create a new product introduction roadmap (3-5 year window)
    • Evaluate opportunities for OEM relationships for products within the portfolio or adjacent product areas.  If potential areas are identified, evaluate potential partners and implement the products into the business unit.
    • Responsible for developing business cases for any newly proposed product or business direction
    • Responsible for developing financial models to support proposed business plans
    • Identify opportunities to expand presence with target market segment(s)
  • Enhance awareness of C&GT brand and workflow solutions for immune cell therapy, regenerative medicine, and gene therapy through content creation, organic and third-party advertising, landing page crafting, SEO, SEM, promotions, regionally tailored initiatives, etc  
  • Cultivate and leverage customer advocates through targeted key opinion leader programs
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing initiatives and product performance.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support newly proposed product or business directions
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing marketing and product management team, fostering a culture of growth and excellence. Encourage professional development and continuous learning for team members.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a science related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • Financial acumen desired, MBA preferred.
  • Requires 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and product management within life sciences or biotechnology industries.
  • Seven or more years of management experience is preferred. Strong leadership skills collaborating across functions and leading a high-performing team.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep CGT industry knowledge, particularly in regenerative medicine.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, build consensus, and solve tough business problems within highly matrixed product, marketing, and commercial structures
  • Proven track record of delivering growth, launching life science products, and executing successful go-to-market initiatives to a targeted customer base
  • Excellent presentation, and interpersonal skills, enabling professional communication across all layers of Bio-Techne as well as customers’ organizations
  • Ensure transparency, alignment, and seamless business execution with cross-functional collaborators and executive leadership
  • Craft business cases and data-driven analysis to define successful marketing strategies, develop outstanding products, evaluate new partnerships, and report performance
  • Synthesize insights derived from customers, competitors, and markets to inform customer-centric product development and business decisions
  • Agility in flexing from strategic thinking to tactical execution in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
