Preferred Skills: | Additional Qualifications and Skills: Experience in direct service delivery for battered women and/or sexual assault victims is preferred. Familiar with the Leech Lake Reservation and surrounding communities. Good verbal, written communication and customer service skills are required. High degree of professional and ethical standards is required. Native American preference. If chemically dependent, must document 2 years of chemical free sobriety. Pre-employment and random drug testing is mandatory for all safety sensitive positions. |

Job Description: |
Division: Human Services Reports to: Leech Lake Family Violence Prevention Program Manager Worksite: LL Family Violence Prevention Program Work Hours: M-F, 8:00am-4:30pm, or as needed LLBO Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: Yes License/Certification Requirements: Must have a valid MN driver's license, current insurance or be insurable.
Summary: Provide general support and service to battered women and children. Advocate on behalf of the women in seeking housing, employment and services related to seeking safety for victim and children. Assists in obtaining orders for protection and harassment orders. Provide prevention services when appropriate and requested.
Duties/Responsibilities: Provide on-going support services and advocacy to battered and sexual assault women. Develop and maintain a working relationship with local law enforcement agencies, the criminal justice system and work collaboratively in understanding the dynamics of victim services. Respond to crisis calls and make visits with victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault. Provide support services and transportation in response to victim's needs. Record and submit pertinent data to progam for services rendered on behalf of victims, for grant reporting purposes. Assist in the development of the program and its activities at all stages. Responsible for individual case management, complying with program policies and procedures, and follow client services protocol. Be on-call during some evenings and weekends. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Attend and or conduct all mandatory meetings and trainings as required. Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times. Ability to travel in and out of the state on a possibly regular basis. Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture. Adhere to policies governing staff conduct. All other related duties as assigned.
