Position: Network Administrator/Engineer 2
Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen, Associate degree and 2-3 years of experience.
Location: Norfolk, VA

Salary Range: $51,000 to $61,000
As a Network administrator and engineer, you will be administering the campus/organization LAN/WAN environment, including wireless access points.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy functional wired/wireless campus networks (LAN,WLAN,WAN).
- Monitor network performance and integrity to determine if improvements need to be made.
- Resolve issues escalated from helpdesk by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.
- Work with third party vendors to keep the network running efficiently.
- Communicate with network users to resolve network issues.
- Maintain complete technical documentation.
- Perform analysis and collect data to establish the potential for improvements within the network.
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Solid background in network administration and architecture.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS) - Mist is a plus
- Technical knowledge of current network technologies, protocols, and industry best practice
- 2-5 years experience administering Cisco and Aruba campus/organization LAN/WAN environment.
- Demonstrated In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF).
- Have the following experience:
- in customer support, including problem definition and resolution for both network hardware and software.
- with Cisco router and switches and Aruba wireless technologies.
- configuring DNS and DHCP
- administering campus/organization LAN/WAN environment, including wireless access points.
- hands-on network troubleshooting
- creating accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
- conducting research related to networking issues and products as required
- analytical and problem-solving skills
- written and oral communication and demonstrated ability to present technical information in a user-friendly manner.
- access control models and network security
- VoIP, Mitel and experience building call patterns preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP etc. preferred
