3 Fulltime Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 04/25/2025- 10/25/2025 During the anticipated period of employment workers will perform any combination of the following tasks related to the pruning and training of apple trees and harvesting of apples; including but not limited to assisting in brush removal, assisting in the planting of apple trees and support systems, training of trees, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems, hand harvest of apples, removal of excess growth from trees to improve fruit quality, thin immature fruit to obtain better quality fruit, weeding, irrigating, cleaning, general maintenance. Workers will prepare fields for planting by clearing cull stock, brush and debris, dig holes, plant seedlings or 'liners' by hand and shovel dirt around newly planted trees. Applicants must be able to operate pruning tools, chain saw, hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives in a safe manner. Work is physically demanding, bending, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time will be required. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, pick a variety of apples by hand using company provided metal-framed, canvas-covers picking buckets with canvas straps that slip over the head and rest on workers shoulders. When filled, the bucket can weigh up to 45-lbs. Workers must have the ability to pick up, use, and safely handle a 16-foot ladder weighing approximately 2-lbs per foot. Workers will need to closely follow company instructions to ensure apples are not damaged during the picking process. Apples may be selectively picked for size, color, grade, or standard factors. Workers will be directed to strip all fruit from trees at once picking or to spot pick (selective picking) according to size and color depending on crop conditions and state of maturity. Fruit picked as drops is never mixed with fruit picked from tree. During harvest, productivity must be at least 5 bins per day with no more than 5% bruising for fresh market. Workers should report for work with their own suitable clothing. Workers must be willing and able to work in varied weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 0- 90+degrees(F) with possible wet conditions. Workers must be available to work 8-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Friday and may be requested to work on Saturday. Workers will be given at least a 30-minute lunch break which is staggered between 11am - 1pm as decided by the workers. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and return to work after their 30 minutes are up. The daily or weekly work schedules may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, orchard conditions, and other factors. Employers will notify workers of any change to the schedule. The employer will provide 3 days of training and allow 3 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Due to safety regulations, workers must be able to take directions in simple English. Requirements: * Three month verifiable experience is required for performing the tasks described. * Employer will train. * Understand basic instruction in English. * Hand harvest fruit with minimal to no bruising. Identify fruit grade (color, size). * Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds * Extensive sitting, extensive pushing/pulling, and extensive walking. * Exposure to extreme temperatures. * Repetitive movements and frequent stooping.
