Job Description:
The Senior Accountant is a member of the Global Accounting & Control Team reporting to the Global Accounting Supervisor based in St. Paul, MN. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and month-end close procedures.
This position supports the accounting needs of Corporate and Divisional personnel and will have contact with individuals throughout the Ecolab Financial and Management community. This position is required to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and requests from all areas because they will be under time pressures and must maintain a strict close schedule in order to provide timely financial results.
What You Will Do:
Support the Ecolab North America monthly general ledger close process in SAP
Analyze monthly financial results for the Ecolab North America entities
Prepare various journal entries during the monthly close process
Work closely with the Global Business Services (GBS) team in Buenos Aires during month-end close, and throughout the month, on various accounting procedures
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
Review general ledger foreign currency revaluation results
Assist in the quarterly balance sheet fluctuation review of the Ecolab entities
Prepare documentation to support external and internal audits
Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
Maintain and enhance department processes, procedures, and related documentation
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum 3 years of accounting and/or finance experience
No immigration sponsorship available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CMA
Public accounting experience
Experience with SAP, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Blackline and Microsoft Office Applications
Strong accounting background, attention to detail, and well-developed organizational skills
Results oriented, proactive, and possesses a high level of integrity
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with a high level of initiative and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Demonstrates ability to work well across divisions and functions (HR, Payroll, Audit, Tax, Treasury)
