Job Summary | The Food Connection @ UK (TFC) is recruiting for a postdoctoral scholar to conduct applied research on value chain coordination (VCC) in local and regional food systems. The successful candidate will conduct applied research at the national level to help create a scholarly community in VCC work, focused on documentation and synthesis of the current state of practicable VCC literature in partnership with the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems and Community Development. The candidate will develop research-informed policy recommendations to guide integration of VCC work into the institutional fabric of local food systems in Kentucky. The candidate will work with the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Local and Regional Foods Division (LRFD) to extrapolate these findings to a national level to strengthen investments in local food systems and support local food value chain work. The position will be located in Lexington, KY and will be a UK employee serving in an interagency personnel agreement as a non-federal employee on detail to the USDA AMS Research Division. |
