Nurse Practitioner- Pre-Admission Testing

Job Description:

Nurse Practitioner

Anna Jaques Hospital

Pre-Admission Testing

Under the supervision of the Director of Peri-operative Services, the Pre-Admission Testing Nurse Practitioner will coordinate the preoperative assessment and evaluation of the surgical patient; striving to integrate patient care across the continuum of health care services in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, families and patients. In this role, you will:

  • Ensure safe and effective peri-operative assessment and care of surgical patients in collaboration with the Anesthesia department and surgeon

  • Conduct a history and physical, order labs, EKG and x-rays.

  • Effectively identify and evaluate the findings, while complying with anesthesia evaluation guidelines.

  • Assess surgical patients for medical and anesthesia clearance, enhance and improve quality of care through the pre-surgical screening of surgical patients; including increasing efficiencies for day of surgery along with improved patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • MA Nurse Practitioner license

  • Experience in similar setting highly preferred.
