Job Description

DescriptionJob Functions:

Print, construct, and distribute technical manuals, manual revisions, and manual transmittal documents.

Print and construct new manuals for new aircraft and/or stations
Update existing manuals for distribution (A/B aircraft sets)
When manuals are returned to the department, conduct a review for condition, completeness, and currency. Correct any errors that are found and report those errors to the Technical Publications Manager.
Construct any spare manuals as necessary, keep an inventory of these spare manuals and ensure they are kept up-to-date and in serviceable condition.

Perform updates and review of the departmental database of controlled items (Manuals, iPads, etc.) for the purpose of tracking location and revision status of distributed and spare manuals. Ensure returned paper and electronic transmittals are used to update database.
Coordinate the shipment/swap out of aircraft manuals to maintenance stations worldwide.

Coordinate the return of the outdated/unserviceable manuals to headquarters.
Coordinate with maintenance to perform or perform manual swaps on aircraft at headquarters or during aircraft heavy maintenance checks in ILN.

Assist Manager with EFB creation/distribution to crewmembers and creation/distribution of Maintenance iPads.
Coordinate the creation, shipment and swap outs of manuals required for Flight Simulators at all training locations. Replace damaged manuals, as requested.
Maintain necessary supplies for the Technical Publications department.
Operate and assist in the maintenance of all departmental equipment required for the printing and distribution of manuals and manual revisions.
Assist with ensuring company manuals maintain a standards documentation format and identify problem areas.
Fulfill technical publication requests from other departments and maintenance stations, as required.
Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:


The ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Excellent Organization Skills
Valid Driver's License
Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat

Preferred Job Skills:


Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in publication compilation and distribution
Experience in aviation
Experience with Adobe FrameMaker
Experience conducting audits of regulatory programs

Physical Requirements:


Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to lift boxes in and out of vehicles, onto shelves, climb stairs with boxes to access the aircraft. Stoop, bend, kneel, etc. to access manuals or supplies on shelves, cabinets, on or under desks.
